Description: Mark Blazis, Director of the Auburn Bird Banding Research Stations, is nationally recognized for his conservation education and research. Mark will be presenting "Tick Talk: All You Need to Know About the Deer Tick, Lyme Disease and What You Can Do to Prevent Tick Encounters".

Mark's focus is on the role of neotropical migrant birds in spreading Lyme disease. As a bird banding researcher, Mark provides deer ticks to various labs for testing. He is a columnist for the Worcester Telegram and Gazette covering all aspects of conservation, fish. and wildlife. He has a weekly Charter Cable Network program, Blazis Safaris. This show is filmed and produced by his wife, Helen, who is a member of both the Sutton and Grafton Garden Clubs. Mark has been feted for national awards in concervation education and research and was chosen as North America's Nature Educator of the Year, and has been recognized by the Massachusetts Audubon Society and the Garden Club of America.

Grafton Garden Club, Sutton Garden Club, and the Blackstone Valley Garden Club members are invited to attend this program. The public is invited as well, free of charge.

Cost: free for members of the Grafton Garden Club, the Sutton Garden Club and the Blackstone Valley Garden Club (and the public, too)
